We’ll help you with the smallest details of the boudoir shoot and share a few tips on what not to do. When the big day of your sexy boudoir session comes, you’ll feel fully prepared to rock your shoot. In the article below, read the top 5 things to avoid before your boudoir session.
Facials
We all love a good glow, but the week of your boudoir session is not the time to go in for any type of facial treatment. Give your skin some love 2-3 weeks before your session and make sure to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Drinking plenty of water, getting as much rest as possible, and hydrating your skin with your daily moisturizers is the best gift you can give your skin for your photoshoot. Our amazing makeup artists will take it from there and enhance your beauty! Have a peek at our recent boudoir shoots to see what we mean.
Wax the Day Before
Yes, waxing is a great idea, but make sure you get your services done a week or so in advance. Doing so will help avoid redness and irritation of your skin. Trust us, you’ll feel a lot more confident!
Procrastinate
The key to the perfect boudoir session is preparation! Don’t wait until the last minute to find the perfect boudoir outfit. Download our free boudoir planning guide at sacramentoboudoir.com. Don’t want to buy a ton of new lingerie??? That’s ok too! Schedule a time to come to our studio for a fitting from our client closet of lingerie available for you to borrow for your shoot. Our goal is to provide you with the best experience possible. We promise that you’ll feel a lot more confident in front of the lens if you plan ahead!
Neglect Your Nails
Who doesn’t love a good mani/pedi?! We highly recommend painting your fingernails and toes, whether you get a mani/pedi or paint them yourself. Keep in mind that your hands will be in most of your photographs. Bare nails can look funky next to professional hair and makeup. Carmen recommends neutral or classic colors like a french-tip, black, red, or nude. Less is more, simple and sexy!
Stress
Your boudoir session with Carmen Salazar is supposed to be fun! Don’t stress out about the small details. Yes, there is a lot of planning that goes into the perfect boudoir session, but you can always count on us to help you from start to finish. Make sure you get a good night’s rest and hydrate. Don’t do anything out of your normal routine. Trust that we will make you look amazing. All you have to do is show up feeling fab! Contact us for any questions about our photography services!
