This guide will walk you through the process of what a Couple’s Boudoir session is and how the process works over here at CSP. Sit down, grab your favorite beverage with your honey and read this until the very end! Most of your questions will be answered below, I promise! If you have any questions after reading this, please feel free to reach out and we will get back to you as soon as possible! Our studio hours are M – TH 9am-4pm.
Our couples boudoir studio is an all female, non-judgmental and body positive environment where couples can feel comfortable and excited about exploring and celebrating who they are through photography. We care deeply that every couple feels empowered and safe together as we capture your love story, intimacy and connection. We’ll reach out to you before your session to get to know you and understand what aspects of each other and your relationship you both are excited about capturing in your session together.

We’ve captured many couples – all of whom have a unique story – but together share in the sense of empowerment, vulnerability and rejuvenated connection after their portrait experience. It is such an honor and gift to be in the presence of such love and adoration and to celebrate it. We can’t wait for you to be next!

Q: Where are you located?
Our studio is located near downtown Sacramento, CA. We have multiple sets, a makeup station and wardrobe room, and a fabulous reveal area full of samples and a drop down screen from which you will view your images during your reveal.
Q: ARE THERE ANY IMPORTANT THINGS WE NEED TO KNOW?
Yes, for couples boudoir sessions, we do have a few guidelines that need to be followed: No male nudity, or full frontal female nudity. No bodily fluids. No ropes, ties (shibari), ball gags or vibrators. No penetration.
***Fake handcuffs, crops, and blind folds are ok! Have a question about something you don’t see? Call or email us for approval!
Q: WhY DO PEOPLE DO COUPLES BOUDOIR?
Doing couples boudoir photography gives you the opportunity to explore something new. Couples boudoir is a truly unique and unforgettable experience which give you the opportunity to look back on this moment in your relationship for years to come. There is nothing more adventurous than unleashing your sensual side with your partner and creating seductive artwork that displays your passion for each other.
Couples boudoir knocks pretty much any date night out of the park! It’s an exciting experience that adds some spice to your relationship. Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary, relationship milestone, or body transformation goal, or you simply want to create sensual artwork together, couples boudoir is your chance to create intimate portraiture that will inspire you always.
Q: What would we do with boudoir portraits?
I actually believe that boudoir is the best gift you can give YOURSELVES, to capture your essence as you both are now. When life gets busy and you need a reminder of the strong, beautiful relationship you have, you will have a collection of amazing portraits to draw you back to that moment. Ignite your intimacy, celebrate your sexuality; two things that are often lost as we get consumed with our lives, our jobs, our families. Keep that flame burning bright.
Q: DO YOU retoucH PHOTOS?
We are happy to retouch your portraits! All of your ordered artwork will have pimples, bruises, scratches, and under eye circles removed. We also offer retouching on things like cellulite, scars, small tattoos, stretchmarks, etc that you may want removed. Honestly, most of our clients are WOW-ed at how amazing their portraits look straight out of camera and opt for less retouching than they thought they would want. It’s all a very personal decision, and one that we leave up to you once you have viewed your photos. We do not remove tan lines or correct skin tone from tanning beds or spray tans, so proceed with caution.
Q: What should we wear?
You are welcome to make a Pinterest board and share it with me, so I can help you make your dream shoot a reality. You both will have 3 outfit/set changes during your shoot. For women, this can be anything from lingerie, comfy sexy pajamas, bra and panties or nude. For men, we do not allow full nudity, but we can do implied nudity. Men should consider bringing, boxers or briefs in solid colors like white, black, gray. Their favorite jeans, linen pants, dress slacks, suits, dress shirts, t-shirts, tank tops, pajamas! Honestly, think of those moments when you find your partner most irresistible and bring that!
Picking out clothing for your partner is part of the fun! You know what your partner likes and what you like to see them in, so who better than you to choose what your partner wears? I’ll provide all the guidance you need throughout your experience. Your session includes a consultation and styling appointment, where we’ll discuss your vision for the session and then I’ll start designing your sets. Based on our consultation call, I’ll recommend clothing that suits your comfort level with 3 outfits recommended for the actual shoot.

Yes, your next step is to book a complimentary phone consultation so that we can prepare you for your session and get to know you better. We are here for you every step of the way to make sure that you feel prepared and comfortable during this whole process.

Our boudoir studio is an all female, non-judgemental and body positive environment where women can feel comfortable and excited about exploring and celebrating who they are through photography. Every woman that walks through our doors becomes part of the sisterhood of Boudoir Beauties at Carmen Salazar Photography.
We’ve captured many women – all of whom are unique – but together share in the sense of empowerment, vulnerability and rejuvenated confidence after their portrait experience. It is such an honor and gift to be in the presence of such feminine greatness and to celebrate it. We can’t wait for you to be next!

Your Session Day
Everything you need to know about the photoshoot
Q: Who is going to be there the day of my session?

- Our Studio Manager (Nicole)
- Your hair and makeup artist (Alexa, Summer, Jessica, or Taylor – you will be assigned someone and will find out who the day of your session unless you ask in advance).
Q: How does this work??
Your entire experience will last approximately 7 hours. You will receive hair and makeup styling, wardrobe styling, and much more! Your photographer is going to pose you from head to pointed toe, and help you with a variety of facial expressions! Prepare to be sore after your session, we do a LOT of bending and twisting (it’s quite the workout!). Studio Sessions begin at 9AM Monday – Friday, we break for lunch, and you will return to the studio for your Image Reveal & Ordering Appointment! We will select which images you would like to purchase and how you would like to display them at home! Ordering appointments take approximately 1-2 hours, so please plan to be at the studio until approximately 4PM! We offer a 0 interest pre and post payment plans on all of our artwork offerings. We do not have an artwork minimum order. We understand either way this is an investment, which is why many women prefer the pre-payment or post payments!
Q: What does the session look like?
When you work with me for a couples boudoir session, you’ll fall deeper in love with your partner and gain a shared self-confidence. I’ll help you feel relaxed from the moment you step into the studio so you can have an adventurous experience with your partner. We’ll start with makeup and hairstyling to bring out your best features while popping some champagne.
Once you’re done with hair and makeup we’ll turn up the music, get you into your first outfits and begin your photoshoot! I’ll coach you through all the posing and in a few minutes, you’ll be having a great time laughing and enjoying yourselves – which is, of course, the whole point! Your couples boudoir portraits will highlight your intimacy and passion for each other by creating portraits that you’ll forever be obsessed with.
Q: How long does it take to get all my artwork back?
You will receive your images in about 4-6 weeks from the date of your session or your last payment! We do not offer online galleries or multiple appointments for your reveal, all ordering decisions must be made at your reveal appointment.
Q: I need my photos by XX date, when should I book?
Our studio books up in advance quickly and our printed products can take up to 6 weeks for delivery. If you have a special occasion coming up please call the studio at 916-747-3293 to see if we are able to accommodate your date request.

The Investment
ABOUT OUR PRICING
So how much does it cost to book?
The Session Fee is $450 and is required to reserve a space on our calendar. Our Session Fee can be paid in full or split into 2 payments of $225. If the payment is split, the first half is due to reserve the session space on the calendar, the second half is due within 30 days of the first.
What does the session fee include?
The $450 Session Fee Includes:
30 Minute Pre-Session Consultation
Private Use of the Boudoir Studio
Professional Hair and Makeup (Application 1 look – 1 person)
Access to our Client Wardrobe
60-90 Minutes of Photography with Carmen
Complete Posing and Expression Coaching
Minimum of 3 Wardrobe Changes
Private In-Person Reveal & Image Ordering Appointment

What can I expect to spend at my Reveal & Ordering Appointment?
The average client invests $3800 on their artwork. Some spend less and some spend more, but that’s the average. We have options for all budgets. You can purchase from our Collection Menu or the A La Carte Menu, both which will be sent to you immediately following the completion of your booking process. What I can say is this, if you are looking for a “quick shoot” or “just a few images,” this is not the session for you. We offer an entire day experience and will show you anywhere from 70-100 final images that will be printed on luxury products. It is certainly an investment, one that is worth it’s weight in gold. You’ll never tire of looking at your artwork or forget the way the session day made you both feel.
We offer an extensive list of beautiful artwork options. We know that this experience is an investment and therefore we offer several different payment plan options so every couple can have this transformative experience and the artwork to remember it by. You can split up the cost of any of our products via our interest free in-house payment plan and make smaller monthly or weekly payments towards your purchase leading up to your shoot (usually 6-12 months) or you can get financing through PayPal Credit HERE. IT’S TIME TO
Invest In You!
After your photoshoot, you’ll view your boudoir portraits and work with your personal design consultant to create custom artwork to remember your boudoir experience! We want you to wake up every day and be inspired by the woman you see in your artwork. The strong and beautiful woman you are to your core!
Storyboards
Our storyboards are a great way to celebrate your boudoir session in one statement piece. Your design consultant will help you design the piece that speaks to your heart. Our storyboards are available as metal, canvas or Italian finish.
Wall Art
The perfect way to select multiple portraits and display them in a unique design, with size options to fit any space. Our wall art collections are available in canvas, metal or wood finish.
Portrait Boxes
Display your favorite photos perfectly mounted and tucked nicely in a beautiful and stylish archival portrait box. Our portrait box features our fine art 8×10 matted prints and allows for you to get creative with changing your featured photograph on the cover.
Albums
Let us create the perfect heirloom album that features your boudoir portraits exquisitely. We offer a few sizes and many fabric color choices to customize it to your taste. It’s the perfect piece to have on your bedside table to share with your partner or to keep for yourself.
